BIHR is coordinating this new website to showcase powerful stories about how the Human Rights Act is making a positive difference to people’s lives. Importantly the case studies come from a range of organisations working across sectors on various issues, showing how human rights are important in a range of areas.
If you have a story about how you have used the Human Rights Act to bring about positive changes, for example in challenging poor treatment, changing public services or developing services we would love to hear more.*
Case studies are around 500 words and should include:
- What issue was being addressed? What changes were you seeking?
- Which human rights principle and/or Articles were identified as relevant?
- How were human rights used to address the issue (e.g. to negotiate with social services, via a letter, in person, through a complaints procedure, etc.)?
- What was the end result?
If you have such examples or for further information please email us at info@ourhumanrightsstories.org.uk
*Please note we may not be able to publish all case studies submitted.
